Clinical skin care and waxing that puts everyone at ease.
Learn more →Built on the belief that pain is information — and the body can be restored.
Pain may identify the place asking for attention, but it does not always explain why that area keeps carrying the burden. The Body Mechanist was created to look further — at restriction, compensation, scar tissue, movement, and the repeated demands placed on the body — then choose care based on what each person presents.
Nichole Cross has been devoted to this field since she was 23. She became the first teaching assistant for her massage therapy program and was later asked to take over her mentor's classes. She has trained with the people who developed the methods she studied, completed 214 hours of fresh-tissue cadaver dissection, and continued building her understanding of anatomy, pain, and function throughout her career.
That commitment to understanding the why behind the work became the Human Restoration Method™ — the assessment-led, decision-based framework that guides the practice. Today, Nichole leads a team of experienced practitioners who bring their own specialties to the same shared purpose: helping people move, function, and feel better.
The Body Mechanist is also a family practice in the truest sense. Nichole runs it alongside her sister, Lisa-Jo, who has helped shape the care, consistency, and familiar experience clients have come to trust.

The standard behind every service.
Body and skin are different concerns, not different standards of care. Every service begins by listening, assessing, and choosing with a reason.
We bring clinical reasoning to every body and every service, restoring how people move, feel, and look.
Why We Are Here
We believe everyone deserves to feel better in their own body, and to be taken seriously when they ask for help.
Our Vision
To set the standard for trusted human restoration care in Southeastern Massachusetts, where a shared clinical approach creates continuity across practitioners, services, and visits. We extend that impact by helping practitioners build lasting careers with opportunities to grow from clinical practice into leadership, mentorship, and education.
Our Core Values
Listen First
No concern is too small or too personal. Understand before beginning, explain the plan, and keep consent informed and ongoing.
Individualize Clinically
Clinical reasoning guides the service. The person guides the plan. Assess before assuming, adapt in real time, and explain the why.
Operate with Integrity
Trust matters more than the transaction. Stay within scope, set honest expectations, protect privacy, and refer when it is right.
Pursue Mastery
Better knowledge supports better care. Keep learning with purpose, evaluate before adopting, and share what strengthens the work.
Be Fully Present
The client in front of us gets all of us. Arrive ready, protect the client's attention, communicate early, and complete the care cycle.
We don't chase symptoms. We restore systems.
The Human Restoration Method™ guides the decisions: assess before we treat, consider the system rather than only the site, make the sequence deliberate, and say the why out loud.
Explore Our ApproachWe're Not for Everyone.
You get to choose who provides your care. We get to set the standards for how we work.
We welcome questions, preferences, honest feedback, and a clear “no.” You can disagree, ask us to explain, request a change, decline a technique, or stop a service.
You do not have to agree with every recommendation. We do expect respectful communication and professional behavior in return.
Our treatment rooms have some personality.
You’re more likely to hear Fleetwood Mac or Coffeehouse Covers than a traditional spa soundtrack. Want something different? Ask for another playlist or tell us what would help you feel comfortable.
We’re conversational practitioners. Questions, treatment discussion, and ordinary conversation may happen throughout your session. Our attention stays on you, your care, and what you need.
Prefer quiet? Say so. There is no requirement to chat.
Mutual respect is part of the standard.
We take your concerns seriously. We expect you to take our people and our standards seriously, too.
We’re not the practice for you if…
- You just want to relax, and have some light touch.
- You expect the same routine every time, regardless of what your body or skin needs.
- You’re unwilling to participate in the basic assessment, communication, or informed consent needed to provide safe, individualized care.
- You expect guaranteed results or a promise that one visit will permanently resolve a condition.
- You want us to ignore a contraindication, work outside our scope, or provide a service we believe is unsafe.
- You treat our team disrespectfully or disregard professional boundaries.
- Your main priority is the cheapest appointment or you want discounted work.
When something is outside our scope, we will say so and refer when appropriate. That is not dismissing your concern. It is part of taking you seriously.
More than time on the table.
Our pricing reflects the education, assessment, clinical reasoning, preparation, documentation, and individualized decision-making that support the time you spend with us.
Education that informs the work
Nichole has completed more than 650 hours of continuing education. Massachusetts currently requires three renewal hours focused on ethics or relevant laws and issues, but no hands-on continuing education. Every Body Mechanist practitioner is held to our highest continuing-education standard, aligned with the American Massage Therapy Association requirement of 48 CE credits every four years—an average of 12 hours per year—along with our expectations for professional judgment and thoughtful care. We do not rely on a memorized routine.
One inclusive session price
When appropriate within the service you booked, the techniques, tools, and products used during your appointment are included. We do not add a separate deep-tissue fee or charge more simply because cupping, instrument-assisted work, taping, or a specific topical product makes sense.
Payment options when available
Some care series and prepayments may include package pricing. HSA or FSA funds may be available for eligible care when your plan's qualified-medical-expense and documentation requirements are met. Confirm eligibility with your plan administrator and ask our front desk about available options.
We are not positioned as the lowest-priced or most standardized appointment. We are for people who value assessment-based, individualized care and want a thoughtful plan aimed at meaningful progress.
